What to expect

Seaweed Harvesters are trained to use a cutter rake for the collection of seaweed. On average, a harvester will cut 4-5 tons of seaweed per day, while operating a skiff equipped with an outboard motor.

Harvest and safety equipment is supplied
On-the-job training is provided
Relocation to harvesting sites

Skills

Can work independently
Experience operating an outboard motor
Understanding of boat safety
Reliable transportation
Pleasure Craft Operator Card will be required by the end of the training period
Follow sustainable resource practices and quality assurance guidelines
Availability (up to 20 weeks)
