We currently have open positions for Seaweed Harvesters in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This opportunity includes training, provides any required equipment, and top harvesters can earn $1,500+ per week during the season.

What to expect

Seaweed Harvesters are trained to use a cutter rake for the collection of seaweed. On average, a harvester will cut 4-5 tons of seaweed per day, while operating a skiff equipped with an outboard motor.

  • Harvest and safety equipment is supplied
  • On-the-job training is provided
  • Relocation to harvesting sites

Skills

  • Can work independently  
  • Experience operating an outboard motor 
  • Understanding of boat safety  
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Pleasure Craft Operator Card will be required by the end of the training period
  • Follow sustainable resource practices and quality assurance guidelines 
  • Availability (up to 20 weeks)
